Double Cut is a 8 axis machine (CNC) designed to ensure maximum precision in cutting on all four sides of the polystyrene block.

Thanks to CNC technology, all operations are performed automatically, without the need to move the piece from its initial position.

The cutting area

Double Cut is a molding block machine that features an advanced sliding system on ball recirculation guides and a toothed belt, ensuring precision and smooth movements.

With a cutting area of 2500 mm in A, 1250 mm in Y, and 2300 mm in B, it is perfect CNC 8 axis machine for a wide range of applications.

The open-frame structure facilitates access and visibility, making the machining process more efficient and allowing for better control during operations.

Versatility of Double Cut

Wire inclination

8 independent axis

Two wires are configured orthogonally (at 90 degrees) on the 8 axis machine. A single control interface directs their independent movement along separate axes.

This independent, multi-axis control allows the wires to address the work-piece without requiring it to be moved from its initial fixed position.

Thanks to the high inclination angle of the wire, the machine allows for the execution of extremely complex cuts, which would be impossible with traditional machinery.

How it works

The Double Cut system incorporates stepper motors for actuation. Motion is achieved via a drive system comprising a toothed belt transmission and linear guides featuring recirculating ball bearings.

This configuration ensures smooth travel and high positional accuracy throughout the EPS block molding process.

Structure

The EPS block molding machine’s open frame structure, made of anodized aluminum profiles, allows the material to be placed on the work surface without obstructions from structural limits, providing maximum freedom of movement.The table top of Double Cut is made of Compacmel Plus, a high-density wood fiber panel selected to ensure a perfectly flat surface.

The wireless handheld controller included with the Double Cut lets you manage operations like jog movement, play & pause, stop, speed adjustment, lathe rotation, and axis position display.

It’s designed to free the operator from the fixed workstation, making it easy to stay close and monitor the cutting process in real time.

Nettuno Software

A specialist in construction, insulation, and packaging, Double Cut comes with our in-house developed Nettuno software, allowing you to control multiple axes at once and easily handle even the most complex cuts on every side of the block.

Unlock extra features by adding the optional carver and vertical turntable.

Integral to the Nettuno Sistemi Double Cut machine is a professional-grade workstation.

This unit includes the dedicated Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and comes pre-loaded with all necessary Nettuno Sistemi software for immediate system operation.

Vertical turntable

Used for 360° cutting of 3D shapes in polystyrene, whether they are symmetric or asymmetric, irregular, spheres, columns, characters, and figures.

Carver

The carver uses a rigid wire that can be manually shaped according to your needs, allowing you to create cavities within pre-shaped forms or produce unique and customized shapes.
