The hot wire
becomes smart.
Automatic wire speed adjustment system, managed according to the type of material encountered.
Unique management in a fully automatic and real-time mode.
Continuous monitoring of the various processing stages will no longer be necessary.
How does it work?
Choosing the ideal cutting speed requires considering many variables, such as temperature and wire thickness, environmental conditions, and material uniformity.
Thanks to real-time automatic management, the system eliminates the need for constant monitoring, freeing the operator from periodic checks on the wire’s operation.
Cutting speed
It is often thought that the cutting speed depends solely on the hardware features of the pantograph, but in reality, many variables come into play. Even with motors capable of working up to 25 m/min, factors such as material density, polystyrene aging, humidity of the block and environment, as well as the wire section, affect the maximum speed that can be applied.
The pitfalls of polystyrene
Polystyrene is never perfectly uniform. Within the same block, there can be differences in density and moisture: the outside tends to be drier, while the center is often more humid. The production process, with expansion or extrusion techniques that are not perfectly homogeneous, adds further challenges. Without accounting for these variables, cutting at the wrong speed can lead to errors, inaccuracies, and visible defects.
